If you want to add luxury to your room and cast a spell that will enchant people who come inside, you have to get yourself velvet curtains. They will make sure your window gets a look that is very much different then others. The atmosphere they create is lovely and can also be used in formal settings. They are great if you want to make a bold statement and will be a superb addition to your room. They are not going to be subtle at all, these drapes are made to be loud and noticed by everyone. Of course, you can choose special color if you want to increase that loudness, velvet drapes can easily be found in many different colors. Whatever you choose, make sure it matches your wishes and that these draperies will add to the richness of your windows.

One place where you can put them is your bedroom since they add a sense of privacy and intimacy. Like I said, they are great for creating the atmosphere. But if your room has a lot of sunlight, you should be careful about that, since velvet can be faded by it.

Maintaining Velvet Curtains

These draperies require special care which you need to provide if you want them to look beautiful and be a great addition to your interior decoration and your home. For example, if you have pets, you should really consider about getting a velvet draperies. Pet hair will be drawn to this material and you will have a hard time of getting it out. Also, you will have to use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust particles. This material is easily soiled and you should bear that in mind. Your children will be a biggest danger to the beauty of velvet curtain you have. And dry cleaning will have to be your often visitor.

Choose a room that would be perfect for this kind of window treatments, color is not important. Red, white, gray, black, purple…anything goes with this fabric. You can create great atmosphere in your home and choose a design that will be astonishing. These draperies are not for every setting, but once you fit them well, they are the best there is.
