How can you make your own Outdoor Curtains?

What kind of material should you use?

    Hi Rue,

You can sew your own outdoor curtains and you should use water resistant material for them. There are plenty of options here and some people only use cheap bed sheets to block the view or some other fabric that will simply block the view and dry out quickly. But, this will last only for one or two years because mold and mildew will eat them up.

It’s best to use water resistant material that doesn’t fade (because of the sunlight). And that fabric can be pretty expensive, so be aware of that. You could use rip stop nylon, plain nylon sheers or acrylic fabric. You should check Walmart, there are some cheap outdoor curtains there (if your Walmart still has draperies, many do not).

I suggest you check some local home improvement stores and see what is out there. And then you will need a good curtain rod and some skill to hang them where you want them to be.

    I hope this helps Rue,
    Jamie
